The Sacral Chakra is the sixth chakra and is located a few finger widths below the navel.
It is most commonly symbolised by the colour orange, a six petal lotus and a crescent moon.
The Sanskrit name for the sacral chakra is “Scadhisthana” which means “your own place”.
It is also associated with the element of water.
Orange is the colour of optimism, warming, happy, energising and maybe used when you feel stuck or lacking in interest. It can help to connect you to your playful, creative side and is said to enhance pleasure from all senses!
Associated with Skin, breasts (milk is produced through ovarian hormones), female reproductive organs, kidneys, colon, small intestine and the sense of taste.
Sacral Chakra Energies:
Balanced energy is displayed as friendly, optimistic, having a sense of belonging, attuned to own feelings, gut sense, creative and imaginative.
Excessive energy may display itself as emotionally explosive, aggressive, overly ambitious, manipulative or overindulgent.
Deficient energy may display itself as a person who is extremely shy, timid, immobilized by fear, overly sensitive or resentful,
Fennel, ginger, mandarin, orange, clary sage.
Love your belly! It may be a bit big, flabby, wobbly or scarred on the outside but it’s protecting a really important energy centre. The tan den, dantien, hara, piko, sacral they are all names for this regions energy which is the focal point here, it is a storage point for energy.
